Please arrive for your lesson no more then ten minutes in advance. Students are not allowed on the floor to stretch or warm up until instructed to do so by their private lesson teacher. Students need to remain seated in the audience until their lesson begins. There is not at any time open floor available to any student to work out on their own and practice. They have to be part of a private lesson in progress to be on the floor. If you have a lesson booked, and your lesson is canceled due to illness or unavailability of your instructor, you may NOT come up and work on your own . Get with your instructor about rescheduling that lesson.
Parents and/or a guardian may sit ringside during the lesson to observe, however we do ask that as a courtesy to other lessons going on beside you, please remain quiet. Please keep all siblings and small children in the audience area seated, away from the rings. This will allow all students fewer distractions and allow the instructors to give your child the best lesson possible.
Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are guardians allowed to videotape another student's lesson or performance.
Children may not be dropped off unattended for private lessons. A parent or guardian must be present inside the facility with your minor student during their lesson. This is due to the ATA Youth Protection Policy and the restrictions of our liability insurance coverage.
Proper attire must be worn to private lessons. No shorts please and no spaghetti strap type shirts. Boys must wear a protective cup for all sparring and combat weapon lessons.
If you need to contact your private lesson instructor, please call their CELL PHONE. The ATA phone is not answered during private lessons.
If you have any questions, concerns or complaints, please do not hesitate to address those concerns to Sr. Master Zant, Owner and Operator.
Tumbling Routines During Private Lessons - Addendum
Master Zant's ATA Martial Arts highly encourages the training of gymnastics and tumbling skills for students who wish to compete in XMA Competition. With that being said, the safety of our students is very important and always a priority. Even in teaching a proper martial arts technique, our goal is to promote safety. All high level tumbling skills, such as dive rolls, front hand springs, back hand springs, front flips, or back flips must be approved by Mrs. Longfellow. Before theses tumbling skills are allowed in a student's routine, a demonstration must be done to evaluate the proper technique along with the student's skill level. This demonstration will be performed for Mrs. Longfellow. We understand that there is a comfort level at a gymnastics facility with the instructor teaching and spotting, different floor surface, and different surroundings. Once the student wants to perform the tumbling pass at ATA, that comfort level changes. This can highly affect the students ability to perform. Due to the safety of the child and liability, parents are NOT allowed to spot their child for gymnastic routines during private lessons. With our years of encounters with gymnastics, spotting requires an intricate level of experience and timing.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Longfellow.
